Candied Orange Peel

(This will enhance the taste of Christmas plum cake)
Ingredients

2 oranges
1 1/2 cup sugar
1/2cup water for sugar syrup
1tspn lemon juice
Preparation
-------------
Peel orange coloured outer skin using a vegetable peeler.boil 2 cups of water a medium heat.when it starts boiling add orange peels to it.cook for 10 minutes.drain the water,again add 2 cups of water to it and boil.repeat this for at least 4 times.

For sugar syrup bring one cup sugar and 1/2 cup water to boil over medium heat,stirring to dissolve sugar.when it started bubbling add lemon juice and cooked peel.reduce heat ,cook it for 10 minutes or until peel become transparent.lift it from sugar.,transfer to a sheet of butter paper.allow the sugar coating to dry.sprinkle powdered sugar over it.allow to dry well.cut the peel strips,store in an air tight container and freeze it.home made candied peel is ready .
