Vendekka Thoran ( Ladies finger )

Easy to cook and healthy.
You can say this a cross between a mezhukupuratty and a thoran

To a heated pan pour some oil and pop mustard.Add some curry leaves and 2 chopped onions and saute,quickly add in 250 gm chopped ladies finger. On medium flame stir for a minute and close the pan.Lower the flame to minimum.Let it steam in its own juices for 10 min. Toss it well in between.If it sticks to bottom the pan,sprinkle some water.
Meanwhile make the coconut mixture
Coconut grated- 3-4 tbspn
Turmeric- 1/4 tsp
Garlic - 3-4
Jeera (optional)- 1/4 tsp
Grind the above ingredients coarsely.
Once the vendekka is cooked ,remove the lid .Add salt and the coconut mixture and mix well on medium heat for 1-2 min without closing the pan.Remove from heat.....your delicious
Thoran is ready.Goes well with rice and also chapathi.Please see that you do not add salt in the beginning otherwise you will end up with a sticky mess.
