ONAM SPECIAL SAGO-BANANA PAYASAM

Ingredients

1.Chawwari (Sago/ sabudana) - 2 cup (1 hr soaked in normal water)
2.Ripe Banana ( Nannaayi pazhutha nenthrapazham) - 2 ( chopped into small pieces)
3.Ghee...2 tbsp
4.Nuts & Kismis fried in ghee -
5.Milkmaid - 1 tin (OR sugar as required)
6.Thin coconut milk - 2-3 cups (randaam paal)
7.Thick coconut milk - 3-4 cups (Onnaam paal)
8.Saffron (Kumkumappoo) - a pinch

Method

1.In a thick bottomed pan, start cooking soaked sago with a cup of thin coco:milk.
Cover with a lid but keep stirring in between so that it doesn't get stuck on the bottom of the pan.
2.After 5 minutes add the chopped bananas (either sauted slightly in ghee or plainly covered and cooked ...u can add sugar if necessary) and pour enough thin coco: milk ...cover and cook again..and keep stirring in between..
3.Once both sago and bananas are cooked well , add milkmaid and thick coco: milk and simmer it for a few minutes.
4.Now garnish with items 3 & 4 ...
