WE ARE DOING IN 2 STEPS
STEP 1:
Ingredients:
Sooji/rava-very powder type preferably 1 cup but in case u don’t have use the normal one
Mustard-1 table spoon
Uradh dhal-1/2 tea spoon
Channa dhal-1/2 tea spoon
Cashew-few
Dry coconut powder/designated coconut-1/2 table spoon
Ginger-1 inch chopped
Small onion-4 no’s chopped (plz make sure u don’t compromise in this bzz the taste comes out well if small onion is used for this)
Green chillies-3 chopped
Ghee-5 table spoon
Method:
In a kadai add ghee and splutter mustard…when done add all the other ingredients one by one along with sooji and mix well…
Fry well in slow flame till all the ingredients gets mixed well with rava….remove from fire and let cool this mix…
STEP 2:
Ingredients:
Coconut milk the light one-1 cup
Water-1 cup
Salt-to taste
Heing/kayam-a pinch
Black pepper owder-2 pinches
Fenugreek powder/uluva podi-a pinch
Grated coconut-5 table spoon
Method:
In a kadai add all the above said ingredients and mix well…let boil….
The coconut milk along with water is the exact measure for the sooji so don’t have to worry…
Once it starts to slowly boil add the roasted sooji and mix well….
Nice and beautiful aroma when it starts to boil and cook….
Make sure all the water gets absorbed by the sooji and mix leaves the pan…
Now switch the fire and cover and keep
DO NOT STIR NOW…
AFTER 5 MINUTES WITH A FORK JUST MIX IT SO THAT U CAN FLUFF UP THE SOOJI….
Yummmm upma is ready to be served….
