Recipe for Arimurukku:-
Ingredients:
1. For Dougha.
Roasted Rice Powder ½ Kg
b.Roasted Gram Flour(Besan Flour) ¼ Kg
c.Roasted Urad Dal(Uzhunnuparippu) Powder 200 g
d.Asafoetida ½ tsp
e.Ghee 2 tsp
f.Sesame(Ellu) 1 tsp
g.Cumin Seeds 1 tsp
h.Salt to taste 1 tsp
2.Oil for frying 2 cups
Preparation:
1. In a bowl mix together the first ingredients.
2. Slowly add enough water and knead, making a soft dough.
3. Divide the dough into 2-3 portions and roll each one into a cylinder.
4. Heat the oil in a wok.
5. Take this dough and put in to a press.
6. Use the press directly over the hot oil and squeeze out the dough in a circular motion.
7. Fry the murukku on medium heat till golden brown on both sides or until crisp.
8. Drain the murukk on an absorbent paper.
9. Keep it in an airtight container.
